Following our recognition last year, we are honored to be ranked 67th this year. The „World’s Best Vineyards” is an esteemed annual ranking highlighting the globe’s most remarkable wineries, chosen from thousands through nominations by over 500 leading wine and travel experts. There are no strict, predefined criteria; the only requirement is that the winery welcomes visitors. Votes are cast for wineries that voters deem the world’s best, taking into account every detail of the experience-from guided tours and wine tastings to the atmosphere, quality of the wines, cuisine, staff, views, value, and accessibility. Disznókő is a landmark winery and style-setter in the Tokaj wine region, proudly welcoming guests at the southwestern gateway of Tokaj on a magnificent, contiguous 150-hectare vineyard. In 2020, we were honored as the only Hungarian winery to be named among the Top 100 Wineries of the World by Wine & Spirits Magazine. In 2017, we were recognized as Hungary’s Most Beautiful Vineyard and received the Winery of the Year award from the Prestige Reserve Club’s expert jury. Classified First Growth, Disznókő is one of the greatest single vineyards in the Tokaj region. Since 1992, under the leadership of AXA Millésimes (owner of legendary estates like Château Pichon Longueville in Pauillac, Château Suduiraut in Sauternes and Quinta do Noval in Portugal), Disznókő has been in the forefront of the renaissance of the true original style of Tokaji wines, seeking absolute purity of the fruit, freshness and great balance combined with the power and the depth of the botrytised grapes. The 150 ha (370 acres) of the estate, in the foothills of Hungary’s Zemplén Mountains, are dominated by a volcanic clay soil and planted with the traditional local varietals of Furmint and Hárslevelű. Over the centuries, Disznókő has been home to a number of noble Hungarian families. The original 19th Century house and cellars is now a renowned restaurant, Sárga Borház (‘The Yellow House’), for visitors to the region.

This year’s spring general assembly of the Confrerie de Tokaj took place last week, in the heart of Hungary’s historic Tokaj wine region. Following the official program, members were invited to taste an exciting selection of early-2025-vintage wines, featuring mainly tank and barrel samples from the region’s producers. Drops of Heaven in Tokaj - Tokaj is a region where individuality often defines reputation - yet the most compelling estates are those that build something more subtle: identity through consistency. Rather than approaching the wines as individual expressions, he identifies a coherent house style - one shaped by precision, crystalline acidity, and a restrained sense of elegance. Within this framework, the 5 Puttonyos Aszú Wines articulate a finely tuned, linear expression of Tokaj: focused, energetic, and architecturally precise. The 6 Puttonyos Aszús extend this narrative, introducing additional depth and complexity without departing from the estate’s core stylistic identity. What emerges across vintages is a disciplined continuity in which freshness and structure remain the guiding principles behind richness and intensity. Az épület központi tömege lágy íveket mutat, és három fejépület szeli át, amely a borvidék karakterét és fény-árny játékát a nap különböző szakaszaiban különböző árnyalatokkal jeleníti meg.
